Scarlet Nexus Has a Launch Date and a New Story Trailer

Bandai Namco's high-concept action RPG is slated to be released this June. An anime series also in development.

Publisher Bandai Namco and their development arm Bandai Namco Studios have announced that their upcoming game Scarlet Nexus will be arriving for consoles and PC on June 25th. The game will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

In addition to the game announcement, Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for the game that gives us a little more information about its story.

In addition to the game, we have learned that an anime is also in development. The series will be produced by Japanese animation veterans Sunrise.

In the far distant future, a psionic hormone was discovered in the human brain, granting people extra-sensory powers and changed the world as we knew it. As humanity entered this new era, deranged mutants known as Others began to descend from the sky with a hunger for human brains. Highly resistant to conventional attack methods, extreme measures needed to be taken to battle the overwhelming threat and preserve humanity.

While not branding itself explicitly as cyberpunk, Scarlet Nexus nevertheless features many ideas and concepts that borrow from the genre. So we think it is definitely at least cyberpunk-adjacent and of interest to fans of the genre. And it certainly looks the part, at least.
